| 2 in 1 Solution for major food retailer |
| The Problem…. |
| A major food retailer was confronted with the problem of unloading vehicles at the rear of a new store and also having to store pallets and cages on an upper mezzanine storey of a two level warehouse. |
| Conventionally a loading bay lift or dock leveller would be required for the vehicles and then a separate goods lift to the upper level. |
| Solution…. |
| Translyft designed, manufactured and installed a 2 in 1 solution using a six ton scissor lift. The lift is fitted with a hydraulic bridge plate and on board controls to allow the delivery driver to access the back of the vehicle from the downstairs warehouse level. Pallets and roll cages can then be unloaded and lowered to the warehouse floor. A PLC control system prevents the operator from going up to the mezzanine floor level which would classify the lift under passenger/goods lifts regulations with additional expense. |
| If the pallets need to go to the mezzanine the driver returns to the lower level and exits the lifts. A key switch is then tuned to “Goods Lift Mode” and the external controls on the lift guarding can be pressed to call and send the lift from/to the upper level. Interlocked gates and full height guarding at both levels make the whole installation safe to all personnel working on either level. See installation solution for further details on this story…. |
